IKEA Shopping (Free) 

This unofficial app tries to dilute the chaos of shopping at IKEA by providing you a single place to note down product numbers and their locations in the giant hall of item-pickup. Begone ye tiny pencil and scrap of paper with too little space to write in.

eBay (Free) 

The online marketplace looks brilliant on Windows Phone tiles, elegantly housing your selling
and buying activity as well as messages and need-to-do’s. Pin a Live Tile for items you’re bidding on to instantly check on status and get alerts near the auction’s end.

Amazon Mobile (Free) 

Buy anything under the sun with the easily searchable app that can also run price comparisons with real-life shopping. Just scan a barcode or type a search term to see online prices compared. Pin the tile to Start to bring up the barcode scanner in one  easy click.

ShopSavvy (Free) 

This dedicated barcode and QR code scanner compares that item in front of your very nose with those online, offering you the best prices – and by closest GPS location too. User reviews can help you make that purchase decision.

Zara (Free) 

One of the first high street retailers to actually let you buy items via its app, Zara has created a sleek bit of software that also supports gift card discounts. You’ll get the latest fashions from Zara online.

Groupon (Free) 

Scan the web for daily deals in your city with this monolithic voucher provider. You can buy deals and redeem the vouchers right inside the app.

Ocado on the Go (Free) 

Do your weekly Waitrose shop on your phone, with this official app that will  store orders and organise delivery. The ‘Your Instant Shop’ feature builds your usual order based on previous deliveries to get that milk/eggs/ bread situation sorted.

Groceries (Free) 

The Tesco giant has its online shopping app too, and you can order any blessed thing in its inventory. You just need to register at Tesco.com – and if you don’t finish an order, you can pick up where you left off online.

Browse the latest gear for your computer in this tech shopping app with a couple million user reviews and tons of  image galleries.

Fashion (Free) 

At a crossroads in your consuming?  Cast your eye on  this aggregated news feed of fashion sites  including Couture Snob, Style Watch and the Bag Lady. Inspiration – and possibly a new asymmetrical look – awaits.

AppDetective
